COORDINATOR, VOLUNTEER SERVICES

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the Adelaide CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit. An exciting and rare opportunity is now available for the right candidate to join our award-winning team as an experienced Coordinator, Place Activation & Economy.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated individual, with exceptional interpersonal, service and administration skills who enjoys motivating and inspiring people.


The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Arts Culture & Community Connections, you will play an important and integral role in the delivery of the Council’s Volunteer Services and programs.

You will bring to this exciting role your personable approach to work with Volunteers and your strong administration and governance skills, to support a best practice, high performing and legislative compliant Volunteer Services Program.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate the volunteer lifecycle including advertising, recruitment, onboarding, training development, retention and offboarding.
• Identify, develop and promote volunteering opportunities and increase volunteer participation rate across the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters.
• Ensure the Volunteer Service is legislative compliant, operates with best practice and effectiveness
• Provide support, advice and guidance to Council staff working with volunteers across a range of Council programs and services.
• Evaluate the risks associated with each volunteer position and take appropriate action in adherence to the Council’s WHS policies and procedures.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:


• Passion for community development and community support
• Experience in an administrative role in Human Resources or community services or volunteer management;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with various of stakeholders
• Understanding of diversity and social inclusion;
• Excellent time management, and people management skills
• Computer literacy, experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel


Job Requirements

• National Criminal Record (Police) Clearance
• Working with Children Clearance
